This piece is comprised of photo lithographs of my paternal grandfather who worked as a piteado artisan and specialized in making riding saddles in the town of Quebrantadero located in the state of Morelos in central Mexico. The original photograph was sourced from archive at El Fueste (The Saddle Tree), a community museum in Quebrantadero highlighting the town’s rich cultural history and the importance and symbolism of the horse as the town was originally founded by horse trainers.
